Business Visitor Visa — UKmigrationLawyers.co.uk

You may enter the United Kingdom as a Business Visitor in order to undertake business directly linked to your employment or business abroad. Your salary should continue to be paid from abroad; however you may receive reasonable travel and living expenses from sources in the United Kingdom.

You cannot undertake work for which would fall under Tier 2.

The following type of work can be undertaken:

  • Attend meetings, trade fairs, conferences and seminars;

  • Make purchases and negotiate contracts with UK businesses;

  • Undertake fact finding missions, check details or examine goods;

  • Receive training through observation and classroom instruction only;

In certain professions it is also possible to attend the United Kingdom as a Business Visitor in order to deliver goods; install or service products or machinery; give lectures, training or run seminars; attend trials or auditions. It is worth noting in these instances certain restrictions will be imposed, for example training cannot extend beyond classroom instruction.

A successful applicant must demonstrate the following:

  • Your visit will not last longer than six months;

  • You intend to leave the United Kingdom at the end of your visit;

  • You normally live and work abroad and do not intend to base yourself in the United Kingdom;

  • You do not intend to work, produce goods or provide services in the United Kingdom;

  • You will have not have recourse to public funds whilst in the United Kingdom.

If successful, Leave to Enter the United Kingdom will be issued for a maximum period of six months.
