Sole Representative Visa — Be Granted a Leave to Enter the UK
If may apply under this category if you wish to act as a sole representative of a wholly owns subsidiary or branch of an overseas parent company. You may also apply as a Sole Representative if your company has legal entity in the UK but does not employ and staff or transact any business in the UK.
You need to provide evidence of the following in order to qualify under this category:
- You are employed directly by the parent company rather than acting as an agent;
- You have been employed by the parent company for a significant period of time and hold a senior post;
- You have full authority to take operational decisions on behalf of the overseas firm without reference to the parent company;
- You were recruited to the company outside the UK and intend to work full time as a representative of that firm in this country;
- You are not a majority shareholder in the parent/overseas company;
- You do not intend to carry out any other work whilst in the UK;
- You will be able to maintain yourself without recourse to public funds.
If your application is successful, you will be granted Leave to Enter/Remain for an initial period of two years. After this period, you may apply for an extension of up to three years. If you have spent a continuous period of five years in the UK under this category you may apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
